CHANGE

Yesterday I went to Kiyomizu-temple(清水寺).
I like there very much, I have been there many times.

Every Dec. they decide one chinese character which stands for Japanese social condition of the year.
The one for this year is 変( CHANGE).

The economy, the prime minister, nature( global warming), ・・・many things have been changed.

It doesn’t stand only for Japanese sosial condition, but also for me this year.

As I wrote before, I changed my way this year.
So, many things around me were changed.
My job, my life style , my house, my neighbors, etc…..

Everything was changed for the better. ( hopefully…)

What character stands for you??

My treasures

These are brochures and DVDs I got this year.
I went to see 7 plays in this year.

Last March, I saw Shintokumaru (身毒丸) in Osaka.
It was impressive enough for me to buy one more ticket!!!

The story is very very dark so some people don’t like it.
But after the play I was so touched that I couldn’t stand up from the seat.

Then I got the ticket for the final play and went to Tokyo only for that

I saw other 6 plays, everything was great!!

SISTERS was also great.
I liked its story as well as those actors.

Since I saw Shintokumaru, I collected the DVDs of Mr. Ninagawa’s direction.

I got a new ticket today!

It is THE WINTER’S TALE directed by Mr. Ninagawa.
Toshiaki Karasawa will play the lead.

It is in Feb. I am going to collect more brochures next year as well…..

Merry Christmas:)

Hello! How are you??

I am pretty good.
How is your Christmas day going?

This year, I had nothing special for Christmas,
but I got a cute present from my friend.

She lives in Osaka,  she is also busy
so that we didn’t have enough time to meet this year.

This small and warm gift made me happy and
realize I am not alone.

Do you have any plan for New Year’s day?
I will be in Eigamura on New Year’s day as Machimusume.

On Second, I will appear in a show!
It is Chanbara show.
I will play as Okou.
If you have time, please come and see me.
It will be at 10:30 and 11:30.

( I will appear on 6th, too.)

Take care!

10 Big Cakes!!

When I am sad, I need something sweet to come around.
I need 10 big cakes now!!

Unfortunately  it is midnight now, no shop is opened…..
I will get them tomorrow…..hehe.

However during the day, I had good time.
I practiced Chanbara ( Samurai sword fighting ) for the stage.

I have Chanbara lessons at the acting school.
But today I practiced it with my senior actors who play it on TV and stages.

It was really hard for me to play well.
I understood their advice,
( actually they were good teachers for me.)
but it was difficult to play as I thought.

Actually I am not good at any sports…..
But it is wonderful to be able to play Chanbara well on stage,
and great that I can be a different character on stage from what I have.

It is a big chance for me as well as a big challenge.

Ganbaruzo—-!!!  I do more than my best!!

Cheers!

Christmas is coming….

Have you decorated your room for Christmas??

It was a day-off today, so I cleaned my room up for new year.
It was  very sunny day so I washed all rugs and hung futon out.

I was listening to Christmas songs then….

“I should decorate my room for Christmas before New year!!”, I thought.

But I don’t have anything for Christmas…
(Since I moved here last April, it is first Christmas in Kyoto, I didn’t bring anything from Kobe.)

I decided to get something cute for my room tomorrow!!

By the way, What Christmas song do you like the best?

I like ” Rudolph the red nosed reindeer” the best.
( We don’t put “Rudolph” in the title, so few people know his name in Japan, poor him…)

Because….

I used to be a member of the chorus, I was an alto.
Every winter we had Christmas concert,
but I couldn’t sing main melody which I really wanted to.

Especially this song, alto part sounded dark for me,
so I didn’t like this song first.
But I sang it for seven years, and it has grown on me.

Now I can sing this song’s alto part with sign language:>

Hello! Everyone!!

Hi!!

My name is Kyoko, please call me Kyon!
Today I’m going to tell you about myself :)

I had been an English teacher for 3 years in Kobe.
Then I left the job and came to Kyoto this year to study acting
to be an actress, which I have wanted to since I was 11.

Now I’m a student of Toei actors’ school, and working at Eigamura.
It’s really fun to work there! Because I’m able to meet many people and talk with them.
So when you come to Eigamura next time,
Please talk to me :)
We all welcome you!!

My hobby is reading books at a cafe.
( I love cakes so that I usually read books with coffee & cakes, he he…)
And of course, I love acting!

I’m really happy if my page helps you to know a piece of Japanese culture, history, etc….
And I’d like to know about your countries,
So if you find the difference from yours, please let me know!!

See you soon!

Kyon
